Blackpaws Brenna of Pomfret CGC, SAR
Brenna was a search and rescue Newf, bred and trained by Susie Foley of Blackpaws. Brenna was trained as an avalanche search and rescue dog. While living in Vermont, she was credited with finding and saving a missing altzheimer's patient and finding the body of another missing person.
Brenna's favorite past time was chasing critters, chipmunks in particular. She would dig to China to find one and if it was in a tree, she would lay quietly at the base of the tree for hours if necessary and wait for it to come down.
Brenna was our "pillow" dog. Her favorite place to sleep was at the head of the bed on all the pillows, which she would promptly tuck underneath her. If she made it into bed before the humans, and she usually did, you'd have to wrestle a pillow out from under her, and she did not make it easy!
We lost sweet Brenna just a little over her 12th birthday.
